Nutrisystem vs Real Food

rubbleangelica, on September 11, 2009 at 4:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Help!! I?m really sick of diets so I thought I?d do a meal plan, they deliver it, easy, just eat and I keep seeing ads for Nutrisystem everywhere, has anyone out there done well on this plan?

They give a free week but when you add it up and you have to buy fruit and such it?s not at all cheap, and at this point I?m pretty burned out on weight-loss plans but I?ve gotta do something soon, feel like a whale.

But I?m hearing that the food is pretty awful, not exactly gourmet-lo-cal, more like sodium and cardboard and bland, kinda like bad fast food.

I tried Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, cabbage, whatever, a friend suggested I try something he read about, NuLean, it?s a liquid meal replacement that detoxes you, isn?t it good to clean out???

So has anyone tried that?

Sounds healthier to me, and at least you can eat normal food.

I have not heard of Nulean and I hate to sound like a downer but usually if it sounds too good to be true, then it usually is.

I know dieting and exercise sucks but usually people who can do a few things to change their habits have the best luck losing the weight and keeping it off. Cut back on soda and fried foods and watch your portions of whatever you do eat. Also increase your activity level whenever possible to help burn calories.

That being said sometimes it's helpful to have something to kick start your metabolism, just be careful and make sure you really research any diet aide you try.

I tried Nutrasystems...DON"T! It's HORRIBLE! The food sucks, taste like crap and oh, the mice love it, though...lol. I threw away an entire box of it because it was soooo bad. And, they make it look like there is a lot more, but in reality, it's like a tea cup saucer portion. You'd def lose weight, but you'd starve in the process. I've never heard of nulean...do a lot of research. If you just want to "clean out", go to wal mart and buy one of the colon cleasne things...they're okay...just stay by a toilet until the treatment is done. The BEST way to lose weight is by eating smaller portions and excercise.

Yes we all know how it is about dieting and what not but it's more of a lifestlye change. I agree with konichiwa, start cutting out soda and fried food at first. The best thing to do is test it out for 2 weeks. Also, try to increase your workout or being more active. I think that going on those system, it's yo-yo dieting and once you stop you gain it back. So start small then work your way up. Eatting breakfast, small meals every three hours and minimize late nit eatting is helpful and drink more water too. Hope that helps. Oo also diet tea or green tea is helpful for cleasing or drinking kumbucha. Very high in antioxidants.

I tried nutrisystem for about a month and a half a year ago. Not all of the food is that bad, but it is in no way as cheap as the commercials make it seem. My FH and I spend probably 300 a month in groceries to make good food for the TWO of us. with nutrisystem, because you have to buy all your own fruits and veggies, I was spending close to 500 Just for me!...Hence the reason I only did it for a month and a half. I would stay away from them. try joining Myfitnesspal.com. That has helped me. It basically tells you how much to work out and how may calories to eat every day. you log in your food and your good to go. It helped me lose about 15 pounds a few months ago. Best of Luck.

Try cutting out just 1 bad thing from your diet for a while. Do you drink soda? Cut that out and you will lose weight without doing anything. Before my wedding I changed to eating about 6-8 small (snack sized) meals a day instead of 3 meals. I lost 15 pounds in about 4 months. This way you can still eat what you love (I wasn't about to give up my favorites), but in smaller portions. So eat a small portion of something yummy, and if you didn't get enough, have another small portion 2 hours later.
