Number of songs needed for Ceremony

Kendra, on June 7, 2019 at 10:03 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
I am not sure how many songs I would need for the ceremony. I only have 2 Maid of Honors, and he has a best man and 1 Groomsmen, so 2 people each. We have 2 flower girls and no ring bearers. I was going to have a separate song for my bridal party than the song for me to walk down the isle too. Should our moms have a separate song to walk down the isle too? How many songs would you say I would need to play after the ceremony as people are exiting the ceremony area? We are expecting around 80-90 people counting us and the wedding party.

It's up to you if the bridal party and parents walk to the same song. We will play one song for parents and BP, then one song for myself. I would just pick one song for the recessional and leave the rest to your DJ, unless you really care what song plays as your guests exit.

Its really up to you and your DJ can help you out with it. We are doing just one song to walk down to. Parents, BP and myself one song. Then we are asking our DJ to play one specific song as we walk back up after we are married then after that I could care less what he plays lol. I'm sure he will just go into playing songs off of our cocktail hour song list.

    We are picking out:

    - 5-6 songs to be played for 15 minutes before the ceremony begins while guests are arriving and finding their seats (Prelude).

    - 1 song for grandmothers and mothers to be escorted in to

    - 1 song for bridal party processional

    - 1 song for bride's processional

    - 1 song for unity ceremony

    - 1 song for recessional

We have approx 170 guests, 6 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen, 2 sets of parents / grandparents, and 2 flower girls.

We are doing 1 song for parents and BP to walk down to, 1 for me to walk down to, and 1 song for all for recessional. We have 4 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen who will be walking together so it won't take very long. Personally I feel like having 1 some for every set of people is too much. You end up only playing a few seconds of a bunch of songs and don't really get the feel of the music. But honestly it's up to you to decide what will work best for you.

Our DJ will also provide music pre-ceremony music and cocktail hour music and we are leaving it up to him to decide what to play.

We will play one song for parents and bridal party and one for myself. Hopefully one song is enough for the parents and bridal party depending on where they start walking from at my venue. Then one song for the recessional for bridal party & us will be enough.

It's totally up to you on how many songs you would like. I would say you only need 1 song as guests exit; it can always be on a loop. If you and your bridal party have the same song, I would suggest to have your officiant tell everyone to stand (if you'd like), before you enter.

We'll only have 3 songs for our ceremony. We aren't walking down parents and grandparents down the aisle. The piants will play his choice of songs for the seating of the guests. Then there will be 1 song for the groomsmen and groom, 1 song for the bridal party, and 1 song for myself. We're using the same song that the guys are walking in to for our recessional.

We have 5 on each side and 2 flower girls.
