Yea my fbil agreed to be a groomsman and 10 days ago told us he and his wife aren’t coming because they “don’t have time.” We’ve been engaged with a date for 19 months and they just got home from a trip to Vegas. My ffil isn’t coming either bc he’s mad at his ex-wife/mog from their divorce over 20 years ago. I’m upset because I’ve never met them and was hoping for a new family and to meet my future children’s grandfather and aunt and uncle. Sometimes people are just horrible :-/

I'm so sorry your cousin treated you this way! If she had an issue with you, she should be upfront and honest with you - not just ignore you on social media when you're trying to invite her to your wedding!

Nearly everyone on my mother's side of the family has gone radio silent on me since June. (I got married in August.) My mom didn't like the invitations, and the rest of the family decided she was right, so they have ignored me. I'm about thisclose to kicking them all off my social media, because I haven't even had a "congrats" message from the overwhelming majority of them.

Sadly, weddings tend to highlight and amplify problems in families.

View Quoted Comment I only lost about $30 between the brother’s tie and my ffil’s personalized gift. Luckily my caterer only charged us for our final head count. But my main problem is I’m so angry I don’t know how I will ever deal with them in the future when I do meet them. I’ve also lost another $30 for one bridesmaid who dropped out and another groomsman who has ghosted my fiancé.

You can still invite her to your wedding though....I don't know that I understand the problem.
