It's totally normal to be feeling this way! Have you already sent out invitations or put any down payments towards any vendors? If you haven't then I don't see why you can switch to a small ceremoy! Because you can definitely do a small ceremony now and then plan a reception later down the road. There's actually a few brides on here who did that and who are planning on doing that.

Well at least you have some time to decide. We never planned on having 2 weddings but with Covid it really left us no choice because we wanted to get married. So we got married and had a microwedding of 35 guests last October and our big celebration is this October.

We are going on vacation in a few weeks to Tennessee, going to see of of my best friends get married! So maybe when we come back we will do it !!!
Only reason why I'm thinking about doing this is bc at the moment my friend and my other friend are getting along. And my one friend already told me if I do get married in 2023 she and her family won't be there bc she said she would punch in the other girl. And I do want drama at my wedding ! Bc I would never do that at her wedding that is coming up in a couple of weeks.
Yes , I know 2023 is a while a way and any cM happening. They won't resolve there issues. Which sucks.
I'm in the middle of all of this. I been doing anything but crying. Because I wish my 2 friends would just get along for 1 day for a couple of hours. 😭😭😭
So this is why I thinking about doing a small wedding in a few months and maybe by spring time we can have a reception.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about that I wish they would be cordial at least for your special day.. :/ So, I totally see where you are coming from. In that case just make sure that is something you really want to do Elopements and microweddings are still so special because of the intimacy between you and your FH.

In two years, they could very easily be just fine or you might not even be friends with them anymore as friendships change. I wouldn't base this decision on two people acting very immature otherwise you might regret this decision. Also wouldn't both be invited to the reception? I guess I don't see what the difference is if they are invited to the wedding in two years or a reception in a few months because there would still be drama.

I think you need to ask yourself would you want to get married at a courthouse if it weren't for your friends arguing and frankly childish behavior. If the answer is that you would not then I wouldn't go with that option because like I said who knows if you will even be friends with these girls a few years from now. I lost someone I considered my best friend during the planning of my wedding, but it was because she was a backstabbing liar so I always never assume your friendships won't change. Also you shouldn't have to host different events because they can't put their differences aside. If you host different events now then they will expect you to host separate events all the time such as baby showers (if you want children) or birthday parties and that just seems super difficult.
