Now i have to deal with rain!😔

Marissa, on October 2, 2020 at 11:13 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

So my wedding is in 8 days and I decided to check on the weather for the location my wedding will be, and of course all the other days are sunny, except my day, with a 50% chance of rain!!!! I'm just so done with this year. First COVID, then the fires here in northern CA, and now rain. I'm just so surprised to see rain because it's been so sunny in CA for such a long time. I'm truly hoping it won't be too bad, but this adds on even more stress I have to deal with. 😔

Yes, there is a smaller part at the venue where we can all be inside for the ceremony, but with COVID being a thing, it will be harder to space people. I wanted the pretty outdoor ceremony site. But I also don't want all my guests to be uncomfortable.

How do you guys handle rain on your day?

Okay so here is what I suggest. Now you know what may be coming. Instead of stressing because I hate to say it...it is what it is...this is also the situation with any outside event. Plan ahead. Call your photographers and ask how can they do their job with the rain and then call the venue and see what options there are. Trust me no bride wants there to be rain on their beautiful day so I get the disappointment but with weddings or any large scale event it is all about back up plans. I do hope there is good weather on your day.

Could you book a tent? I don’t know if that’s enough time for them but at least try, get the backup plan ready!

We need the rain so badly here maybe your guest will be trilled about the rain and enjoy it! lol

Hopefully the forecast will change! It sure did for my wedding day. A week before my wedding it said it was supposed to be 86 degrees but the day of my wedding was 106 degrees.

I've noticed a lot of brides are concerned about rain. I looked at the forecast and there is a 20% percent chance for my wedding day. Let's just hope it changes.

Idk if it’s because I’m in Florida and the weather is bipolar sometimes ... but I would not take a 7 day away forecast seriously. It usually changes as the week goes on. It may turn out to be the perfect day. I would have a backup plan just in case but I think outdoor weddings always should. Good luck!

Thank you! I will talk with my venue and come up with a plan b. But truly hoping it doesn't come to that. 🤞

Have faith, yesterday our wedding date said 70% chance of rain, the day before was 50%, today it's now partly cloudy. It will all work out.

OMG nooooo! prayers for you 50% chance rain also means 50% chance No rain. I know that doesn't calm your nerves. I'm in So Cal. getting married in late Nov. I have the same fear having everything planned for outside.

I truly wish you the best.
