November brides timeline

Katie, on December 3, 2019 at 12:15 PM Posted in Planning 2 8
Help! What was or is going to be your timeline for ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception for winter brides? My ceremony and reception are about 25 min apart from each other (maybe a little less)

Hey Katie! Not a November bride, but I am a winter bride Smiley smile Here's the rough draft of my timeline so far, hope it helps!

9:00 Arrive at venue to begin setup
11:00 Brief lunch break/begin getting ready
    1:15 Pre-wedding photos (bride/dad first look, bride/family, groom/family, wedding parties)
2:15 Finish photos to return to bride/groom suites
2:30 Early bird guests start to arrive
    3:00 Invite time
3:10 Ceremony Begins (to accommodate late comers if necessary)
3:35 Ceremony Ends/Guests move to reception area
    3:40 Cocktail Hour/Post Ceremony Photos
    4:40 Introduction of Bride & Groom/First Dance
4:50 Welcome (Father of the Bride)
4:55 Prayer from Grandfather of the Groom
    5:00 Dinner begins (buffet style)
    5:45 Toasts
    6:00 Father/Daughter & Mother/Son Dances
    6:10 Dancing/Sunset Photos
    7:00 Cake cutting
    7:15 Bouquet/Garter Toss
    7:45 Last Dance
    8:00 Send Off

We're having a Sunday afternoon wedding so we won't be having it too late and didn't accommodate a whole lot of time for dancing as that's not really our crowd lol

    November 27th, 2020 Bride Here!

    3:00PM - Ceremony begins

3:30PM - Cocktail hour and photos

4:30PM - Cocktail hour ends and everyone is led into the reception area

4:45PM - Reception begins and wedding party enters

4:55PM - Bride and groom enter

5:20PM - Dinner is served and blessing is given

5:40PM - Best man/matron of honor/father of the bride toasts

    6:20PM - First dances (bride/groom, bride/father, groom/mother)

    7:00PM - Cake cutting

8:15PM - Bouquet and garter toss

Our wedding is from 3PM-10PM so this is a rough estimate where I give extra time in places in case the ceremony is longer than the planned 30 minutes, etc.

We are having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all the same venue. So one will just flow into the other without any time between

We don’t have a timeline 100% worked out yet, but our ceremony won’t start until 6pm. My fiancé’s family likes to party late into the night, lol. Because the sun sets so early in November, it’s basically forcing us to do a first look and pictures before the ceremony so we can use our venue’s garden. The venue is all-in-one so there’s no travel involved, thank goodness!

The ceremony itself will be indoors. We will probably arrive at the venue at 4:00 already ready to go. We are getting ready at a nearby hotel in the morning/early afternoon. We will have our first look about 4:30, then go directly into pictures. After the ceremony is a cocktail hour with heavy appetizers about 6:30, then dinner starting around 7:30 and dancing until our exit at midnight.
