November 2020 Wedding

Sarah, on September 18, 2020 at 1:36 PM Posted in Planning 0 14

I'm getting married on 11/20 and was curious what other brides are doing that are getting married around that date. Are you moving forward? Postponing? Cancelling?

Our guests received their invitations over a couple weeks ago, but we're having a hard time getting RSVP's. I'm wondering if they're waiting until closer to the RSVP deadline (10/28) to see what happens with COVID.

Moving forward but I am having a minimony with like two guests and my MOH so I am not having the full she-bang. It all depends on how things are where you're at and how you want your day to be.

I am getting married 11/15/20, 5 days before you! I am moving forward with our plans. Our venue, catering, and photographers are available, so why postpone? It may not be exactly what we envisioned, but I will not postpone our wedding date because of fear.
I sent invitations a couple weeks ago, like you I am having issues getting RSVP's. So far, we've had 21/70 guest RSVP. I'm waiting until a month before the wedding to reach out to those who have yet to respond. If they fail to after that, then I'm going to mark them as not attending. I understand that it's not an easy decision to make because of Covid, but it also isn't fair to take your time making a decision when we have deadlines and balances to pay.

We’re getting married November 14. We cut our guest list from 175 to 50 (just bridal party and family). We canceled everything, and we’re having both the ceremony and small reception at my in laws house

I’m also getting married on 11/20! We decided in August to postpone our big wedding until 11/4/21 and are doing a small ceremony/reception with just immediate family and bridal party this year. We want to be able to fully enjoy everything we were planning and have everyone feel safe and comfortable. We also didn’t want to feel like we wasted money, only having like 50 people being able to attend.

My fiancé and I are having our minimony in less than 3 weeks with about 30-35 guests. Our big celebration in scheduled for March. As of right now we are planning on continuing with both

We’re moving forward with our wedding. We cut our guest list down and rented a privately owned retreat to host the weekend. We politely told our 50 guests to not worry about coming if they are concerned and have them a link to watch the ceremony virtually. This is not proper etiquette at all but all of our friends and family support the decision: we invited the obligatory family members and as they rsvp’d no, we invited a local friend. That way nobody’s feelings are hurt and we get to invite more people.

I agree same issue here slow responses they have s week left no rsvp there wont be a seat for you. I think its so rude to not rsvp at all or drag your feet. Either you want to attend or you don’t

In general circumstances, many people wait until the very last minute to RSVP.

Hi! Congrats! I’m getting married 11/22 and I’m still moving forward. My guest count is 75-85. So far, a third of my guests have RSVPd but the rest are waiting to see how everything progresses, so I’m not worried just yet. I’m sure I’ll be under the original count and I’m okay.

Ours is November 6th, we decided to cancel the big wedding and have just a ceremony and dinner with family and bridal party only. We switched from our large venue to renting out a rooftop restaurant. About half of our bridal party and some family has told us they are uncomfortable attending, so we will be doing a livestream for them. We decided not to postpone or have a reception down the road simply due to the stress it has already caused, it just wasn’t worth it to us.

We are still moving forward with 11/7, but might need to move everything outside and earlier in the day due to Covid restrictions on indoor gatherings. We set our rsvp deadline at Oct 1st and have only received replies from one third of our guest list. 😕

Going forward with 11/7 wedding. I didn’t send out an invite due to change of venue and I didn’t want to reprint. So we texted our guest the wedding link and asked them to rsvp by said date; pretty much all of our guest responded. We had 65 people rsvp I believe the number may drop as we get closer which I am fine with. I’m just ready for the day, I cannot imagine pushing this day off. I’m over the stress and sleepless nights lol

04/18 to 11/01 here and I actually had to cut down our guest list bc everyone wanted to come.🥺 I felt so bad but our venue only allows 80 guests. I’ve been very lucky with a strong support system and we’re moving forward with our date.
