Nothing looks good on me dress wise

What about alternatives? Like a jumpsuit or a gown shorter in length? Also some brides honestly don’t get that “omg this is the one” feeling

Keep looking - I suggest trying multiple different dress shops. I went to 4 dress shops total (and ended up trying on almost 40 dresses total) - and two of those stores, I didn't find one dress that I even somewhat liked. The other two, I found a couple dresses that I liked (one that I ended up purchasing). Try on dresses from different designers. If you find one you kind of like, but there's a few things you don't like about it, ask if the dress can be custom ordered with changes to make it into something you love. Or like Melle suggested, try on alternatives to long dresses! Don't give up!

I completely felt the same way for my body. I encourage you to keep looking.

Think outside the box and look at other styles/shops.

Make sure you are shopping at salons/retailers that carry dresses in your size so you can get a realistic impression of how a specific dress will look on you. Call ahead to shops you'd like to visit to make sure they have samples in your size. Especially in larger cities, it seems there are bridal retailers who cater to the needs of "festively plump" brides -- make appointments with those shops so they can treat you like the wedding queen you are! Also, consider online retailers like Azazie that send dresses (for a nominal cost) for at home try-on.

Also, think about a style of dress that you usually look good in and consider the specific characteristics that are best suited to your body. For example, a bride with a large chest might have an easier time/better fit in a dress with straps that will allow her to wear a supportive bra. A bride with a defined waist might find an a-line or ball gown with a thin belt flattering. A bride with a thicker waist and more straight up-and-down torso might find a mermaid or fit & flare style awesome. I was always a big fan of the old TV show, "What not to wear" and learned that there is a "perfect style" for every body type -- it's just a matter of realizing what plays up your best assets and then capitalizing on that! OK, so you have at least narrowed down the silhouette you like on your body shape! Now I would look Online- research research research! I seriously had to have looked at over 300 dresses online! I would screenshot any dress I loved & saved it in an album on my phone just for dresses. After a couple weeks, I went through the album and deleted anything I didn’t still love. For the dresses that were left over, I found boutiques near me that carried them & made appointments to dress shop and made sure they knew I specifically wanted to try on that dress(es). Appointments are usually an hour long, so you can look through the racks when you get there and pull anything that interests you to try on in addition to the dress(es) you went there for.
While it’s good to have an idea of what you like/are looking for, I would say to always keep an open mind also. Soooooo many brides end up falling in love with a dress that is nothing like what they had originally envisioned! I’m not sure if you are shopping alone or with an entourage, but oftentimes going alone or with just one supportive person is helpful. And most of all, don’t put pressure on yourself! Your dress is out there & you’ll know when you find The One!

Keep in mind that what looks great on the model may not look good on a real person, and you can't tell what anything looks like on a hanger. Try everything on.

I didn't have an oh my god, this one! moment or tears. Lots of women don't. But I shopped myself and narrowed it down to 3, before mom and my FI came to see. Had they liked a different one, it would have been fine by me. What made me lo e my dress, was that not knowing how many dresses ( I said I would be showing them 6), on the 3rd, My FI and mom were suddenly overwhelmed. That, made me love the dress.
.....Have you tried Maggie Sottero, especially any of the Curves designs? or any of the 3 lines on the Site? All the dresses in the line go to 24, 32, or beyond. But some dresses are pairs. A dress. And the same design changed to allow for fuller curves, more support different cuts of neckline, arms, so they are more flattering on big women. No Maggie is cheap. Most are in the $ 1400 to $2000 range. But look online. And look in the index to see salons near you that carry them. When a dress fits your body as though designed for it it makes a big difference. You also might want to try some asymmetric a lines which have less volume than many A line, and the 1 sided ( sides do not match) dresses often have a drape and rouching, pleats, on the diagonal, that hug curves, with no tent like look. Also, though strapless and dropped shoulder are in, make sure to try some with wide shoulder straps, or wide at the shoulder with lace cap or elbow length sleeves. They give the illusion your shoulder width is greater, and that you have more of a general hourglass figure , where strapless make your middle the focus. You are tall enough to carry off a broad at the shoulder curvy dress.
Many dresses shown sleeveless, have a sleeve or wide strap option. ( filter, sleeves will show some of these in different views. And they do sell some illusion sleeves and fabric. Many lines do. So look with an eye to your overall figure, but look till you find one that is you at your best.

I love that you referred to yourself as festively plump, that sounds so fun!
Are you someone who regularly has moments where your overwhelmed with excitement, surprise, or happiness? And how often do you put on any type of clothing and think, "I look amazing in this?" If your answer to either of those questions is no, you may want to think about this process a little bit differently. Not everyone has the oh my god this is my dress moment and that's okay.

I knew going in that I wasn't going know that a dress was for me because it made me cry or gave me THE FEELING, because I'm rarely overwhelmed with joy and I'm self conscious about the way I look in everything. So instead of focusing on a feeling, I went in with a list of qualities I knew wanted my dress to have or not have. I wanted it to be long, white or white-ish, and not too poofy, and I needed to be able to use the bathroom on my own. I tried on several and tried to focus on how I felt rather than how I looked. I ruled out a couple because they were too slutty on me and I didn't want to worry about a wardrobe malfunction. The others were ruled out because they were too comfortable (I'm weird), too uncomfortable, or too white. I narrowed it down to two and chose the one that felt lighter, because who wants to walk around with something heavy all night? I was happy with the dress I chose, but even happier that I didn't have to think about it any more.
My wedding was still perfect.

The asymmetric drop waist dresses look terrible on the hangar, but when the ruching pleats are draped over a body, they are flexible about fit, and quite nice.
When you try on fit and flare or mermaid skirts, try ones with the Trumpet skirt, as above The flare out starts a little below the hip on your thighs, near your wrist if your arm is by your side.

Avoid all true mermaids, which flare below your knee or midcalf, suddenly, and are generally unflattering to fesstive curvy figures. They make you focus on the widest part of the hip and belly.

She is at moncheribridal.com, or her own website. Once you try some of these well designed for your shape, you may spot the same features in other lines. But these are lines worth trying on in person . And I have never known any of the authorized dealers of these lines to put a dress 3 sizes too small or 2 too big on you, and asking you to decide, is it flattering, which Davids and many others routinely do for plus sizes, not staocking more than 1 of every 4 sizes over 14 or 16.
