Nothing Bundt Cakes

Roberta, on July 9, 2020 at 12:11 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
Hi. I was going to use Nothing Bundt Cakes for my cake. Has anyone done this before? Pros, cons? What size cake topper should I get, 1 prong or two?

Thanks!

It depends on how many people you are serving, they have serving information online based on the size.

Sorry, I misread. I’d be weary of a cake topper being able to stand up, since it’s not going into cake unless you put it off center.

I would fill in the center of on of the cakes with icing and use a flat bottom topper or if you get a big enough two prong topper you can put on on each side. I would ask the company you are ordering the cakes from what they recommend.

Their cakes are so good! And way cheaper than professional wedding cakes. I wanted to them but hubby really wanted a custom decorated cake. We only needed one tier or I would have fought with him on the waste of money.

Hi Roberta! I worked for NB Cakes at two different locations so I can help with any questions you have! We are also using them for our cake because it's delicious and less expensive that a traditional wedding cake. Plus everyone loves them so it won't go to waste!

There are 4 sizes at NB Cakes.

    10 inch feeds 25-30 people

    8 in feeds 20-25 people

A tier cake is an 8inch on top of a 10inch and feeds about 60 people.

    Bundtlets are single servings

Bundtinis are sold by the dozen and are bite size.

There is two frosting options as well for the 10 and 8 inch cakes. Normal petals or drizzled. Drizzled looks FABULOUS for weddings.

I would suggest getting a tier cake and a few dozen tinis. As for decoration, tbh don't get any. It's overpriced and not able to customize. Get something on etsy or use your own florals! Let me know if you need any other info!!

I'm not a huge fan of cakes, but love NBCakes. My plan is to have a cake at each table as the centerpiece. Probably put the table number sticking out of it. For the head table, maybe a tiered NBC (that might be too much cake). Or maybe just the 10inch cake as opposed to 8 inches for all the other tables. (Does 8 inches really feed all those people?). Agreed, I would not get toppers from NBC. But for head table I want a little something. If it's 2 pronged, how far apart do the prongs need to be?

That sounds cute, but yes it does feed that many, so be warned if your guests don't like cake or don't take it home you will have a lot of left over. Plus with COVID I would suggest something more individual but that is my own personal preference. When you say pronged are you talking about the cake topper decoration? If so I think the standard topper (6-7 inches apart i think?) should do, but of course if it is a single pick you can stick it into the cake anywhere. Sorry I hope that makes sense!

Cant answer your question, but I love nothing bunt cake!
My cousin used them for their wedding and they did a bunch of individual sized bunt cakes instead of staking them like a wedding cake.

I’m using them for my August wedding. Their cake is the absolute best and it was a non-negotiable for me! We selected a two tier cake, two 8 in cakes and about 400 bundtinis in 4 different flavors which was what the bakery recommended. We were expecting a lot more guests when we ordered! They are going to let us change our order if necessary once we have our final count. I am doing floral in the center of the two tier along with a small two prong cake topper too!

This is all helpful info. Do you think a silk flower in the middle of an 8" cake would be bad...like people wouldn't want to eat the cake because the flower was on it? (Before Covid)

Speaking for myself, I would feel fine eating the cake even with the silk flower on it. My guess would be that most people would be okay with it but of course you would never know for sure. Maybe do a combo of the regular Bundt cakes and the Minis just to be safe?
