Hi date twin! They actually sell just the decals on Etsy if you search for them. Or do you know someone that has nice handwriting that could do it or someone with a cricut to cut out the lettering? I guess you could use stencils too?

Etsy has decals. When applying them tell the seller that they need to adhere to a chalkboard - there is a stickier vinyl that they will use, it will look more glossy than matte. Also when you adhere the decals really clean the chalkboard. I used windex. It worked really well with my decals.

This! I want one like that too.

My plan is to order the vinyl through Etsy if my sister doesn’t make it

You can order a decal as others have suggested or if you just print out what you want and create a stencil you can do it that way as well. The second will obviously be more time consuming but its the more budget friendly option!

If you've a friend with good handwriting you could also ask them. I've terrible penmanship so I had a friend do something for me that would require it

Thanks! I finally had a chance to jump back on my phone and share how I did it! Ok. So. I didn’t want to spend the money on an Etsy decal, but also have terrible handwriting myself and knew that freehanding it was out. So. I went onto word and printed up templates for each phrase or word and laid them all on the chalkboard to make sure they were there right sizes. Then, I used graphite transfer paper (available in the art/paint section of any craft store) and a pencil and traced the template over the graphite paper, which leaves a VERY light tracing on the chalkboard (visible, but easily covered in the next step). Next, I used a semi-permanent chalk paint pen and traced the graphite transfer! And that’s it! Time consuming, and somewhat painstaking. But I’m on a budget and desperately wanted to save the money. I just did the same process over again Today on smaller chalkboard signs for our tables and it still worked well!

Vinyl it up! They make removable vinyl that can peel right off when you’re done and then you can use the board again. Or use permanent to make it last!

You can also by decals on Ebay much cheaper than anywhere else Ive found. Also, another idea, find some stencils then trace with a pencil and hand paint them in. I saw another bride who did it so I gave it a try and it is time consuming but WAY cheaper. Just make sure you buy some decent paintbrushes of smaller sizes. Walmart has them for $4 like a pack of 5 small sizes.
