Those red flags are all totally valid, and good that you were able to notice those issues before booking! The unwillingness to do a tasting would be my top red flag/dealbreaker.

View Quoted Comment I completely agree. My husband and I didn't want our ceremony and reception in the same room at the same venue either, and that was a dealbreaker for us too. We'd previously attended a few weddings where the venue had to do a room flip in between the ceremony and reception, and it always felt chaotic. We ended up finding a venue that had multiple spaces. Awesome that your venue had separate spaces for you to use!

We really lucked out though and ended up booking accommodations, ceremony and reception all within walking distance, along with two restaurants and a bar so guests literally don't need to drive anywhere unless they want to. And we found a couple scenic spots to do couple portraits so we're getting both the convenience and naturey photos that we wanted - best of both worlds!
