Not mushy father/daughter dance

I've been searching and searching to find a decent father daughter dance that would please both my dad & me but I haven't been able to find anything

Our relationship isn't the greatest, it's not terrible but if I had a choice I wouldn't do a dance with him (it means a lot to him sooo I'm going to suck it up)

He keeps showing me these insanely mushy and touchy feeling country first dance songs - which are sweet but are far from how our relationship has EVER been.

The closest I've gotten to a possibility of not mushy dance song is "You've got a friend in me" from toy story lol

Iv'e seen "You've got a friend in me" used before. My step-dad (basically my father) and I are doing "Don't worry be happy".

You've Got A Friend in Me is on my short list! I agree, it's hard to find a song that's not super mushy!

I ended up choosing an instrumental version of a song my dad likes and relates it with me. I don't feel the so strong about the song when it comes to our relationship, since it is rocky, so it seemed like a good alternative. There won't be actual words for him to get toooo sappy about, yet it's still the song lol. But I also like the idea of doing something a little more "fun" yet meaningful.

My dad and I are dancing to La Vie en Rose by Edith Piaf. His side of the family is French and it's a favorite with us.

We're doing "Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon. I didn't want creepy slight incestuous songs tbh, a lot of those country ones make me super uncomfortable. This was up beat and still nice.

I used Somewhere Over the Rainbow by IZ....he's Hawaiian, and the song definitely has that sound.
My sister went with "Teach Your Children" by Crosby, Stills and Nash.
