Not Excited About My Dress

Andie , on September 14, 2019 at 1:19 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 12
So I’ve seen so many dress regret posts, but I didn’t think I’d have that problem. I bought my dress the first time I went shopping, I tried on like 5 dresses total. By time my dress came in, it was a little too big, so when i tried it on, I didn’t really love it. As time went on, it got even bigger on me, so I figured the not loving it part was coming from it not fitting well. So I got my dress altered and picked it up today... I don’t love it. I just don’t feel it at all. I’ve spent $1500 and I’m getting married in 3 weeks, so a different dress is 100% out of the question. I just don’t know how to make myself feel better. I only have a pic in it from the first time I tried it on, I’ll post it. It’s a gorgeous dress, I’m just not excited about it for whatever reason.

You look absolutely gorgeous in it!!!! Have you tried adding a embellished belt to it maybe you think it's missing something. Maybe put it on with your viel or tiara or whatever head dress you're doing and maybe you might see and have that feeling that you did before

Hun I’m being completely honest. Your dress makes you look like a princess, it’s absolutely breathtaking. I know it only matters how you feel in your dress but your guests and your groom are going to be wowed. Your dress would look AMAZING with an intricate beaded veil, it’s just the right amount of princess feel while still being able to have a fancy veil without it looking too busy. You could also pull off a sparkly hairpiece like a precious comb with crystals and pearls.
You’ve only got 3 weeks but it’s enough time to order any last minute extra touches if you decide you want them.
It’s an impeccable dress. You’re going to look so beautiful on your wedding day! ❤️

You look gorgeous Smiley heart But I understand - you deserve to feel your absolute best in your wedding dress! What exactly don't you like about your dress? You can have it altered so it would be completely strapless, you can add a sparkled belt, you can buy a jacket or shawl to go over your dress, or you can add a long veil that has sparkles or lace?

I agree with PP, your dress is gorgeous and really looks AMAZING on you. I do understand not having that feeling because I didn't have that with my dress. You deserve to feel your most beautiful on your wedding day so I did end up purchasing a new dress. Since thay isnt an option for you, can you alter the dress or add little details to make you love it more?

It is also going to be different on the day of I think with your hair and makeup done, all the accessories on, and knowing you're a BRIDE!

Totally unrelated but is that a bolero or part of your dress? That’s how I want my strapless dress to look!

I’ve gone back and fourth with adding a belt, but because the back goes to a point, I’d have to have the belt sewn on, and to do that, I’d have to buy the belt at David’s and they’re really expensive, so i opted out of it. I already have a veil, it has lace details that match the lace on the dress.

It’s part of my dress. There’s no embellishments added or anything.

I definitely think your hair and makeup will make a huge difference in how you feel in the dress. The day of, when you are all done up, you will look and feel different. I think it suits you and you look great.

Have you tried it on with all your accessories? Can you change your accessories? A veil can make you feel like a bride even if you were wearing gym shorts. Other than that just remember it’s only a dress you’ll wear once for a few hours. We put way too much emphasis on it

A big part of the love of the dress is having everything together like the accessories and hair done and makeup. I had those moments with my dress where I was feeling so meh about it. Then the day came and all the pieces came together and I was so in love with it again.
