Not as fun as I thought...

Dress shopping was not fun at all for me. It was a lot of work and overall kind of overwhelming for me. I felt like people expected this huge reaction from me but I just knew I didnt like the dress. I could point to certain things but overall I just knew it wasn't "it". I never got that YSTTD bridal moment though I did find a dress i love. I was so glad it was over because I didn't want to have to go shopping any more.

Setting up a website....I thought it'd be a blast but it totally wasnt

Yes, setting up the registries. I thought it'd be so fun but we can hardly find anything we want to add to them!

Guest list. Nope nope nope. It was the only bad experience we have had. I liked it for like five minutes.

My grandmother was the one who taught my sister and I to make dreamcatchers as children.

She is terminally ill and we were unsure if she would be able to come to the wedding so, in her honor, I wanted to make a large dreamcatcher with a boho feel.

It took over eight hours to make and I couldn't stop once I started because I literally didn't know how to hold my place without it all falling apart.

I was an absolute zombie the next day with three hours of sleep. My grandmother did appreciate it though and asked if she could keep it which made my teeny tiny heart grow three sizes.

I found dress shopping to be stressful, too. I was glad when that part was done, because it wasn't as much fun as I expected it to be!

So far, registry. In my mind there was going to be a montage-y moment of running around with scanners but it was not to be.

Dress shopping. I'm 5 months out and still looking. I don't want off the rack but I'm hearing that will probably be my only option at this point.

I thought STDs were super fun too! Was so excited to take engagement photos for them and Order them. Now that I have to make final guest list decisions to send them and I want to get the guest list down, I'm wishing I didn't buy them! Then I'd have more time to decide...oh well! As for addressing, I bought clear Avery labels.

@Engineerinlove ugh I was thinking the same! I am now avoiding registering because I know there will be so much stuff and it will take forever to pick everything...

Designing our STD postcard. Everyone and their cousin has opinions on which picture to use and I really don't care that much. I think I spent more time working on that then I did when I reformatted a paper manuscript for resubmission to another research journal.

The first registry (we redid) and the first tasting. The second times were amazing. Wow I had to redo a lot for this wedding.

I'm going dress shopping now and it's fun, but harder than I thought. I have two totally opposite dresses I reaaalllly like but still looking to be sure.

Setting up a website is harder than I thought. I've started on here and on the knot and I hate it! I thought it would be fun to make everything all cute but nope! I think I have one picture and no stories lol ugh

Registry was difficult for me too! I totally forgot how hard that was. FH really doesn't like acquiring things so I only registered for things we already have so we can donate the old stuff and replace it with the gifts.

Engagement photo shoot! I was so excited bc the place was beautiful and we had our dogs in it (they're in the wedding) but after seeing the sneak peak pictures.. I'm feeling so self conscious and im worried I won't like any because I keep critiquing myself.

Dress and registry shopping were much more stressful than what I wanted to deal with. I'm gonna need a wedding hiatus here soon.

I was excited to do a registry.. but the whole experience sucked. Ended up doing it online.

STD... just finished them... they were a PROJECT! and expensive and I'm over EVERYTHING wedding related... for at least the next week! I will post a pic later for you guys to see why they were a project...

I've learned that I like planning on my own more than designating tasks to other people.
