Not a large Bridal party - what to do?

Cj Wallace, on May 28, 2019 at 1:50 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 10

Hello! My FH and I decided to not have a flower girl or ring bearer and our bridal party consists of 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen. Every wedding I've attended or been a part of what a big production so I have no idea what we should include on the program. I'm thinking at this point the ceremony will be a total of 5 minutes (LOL). I could really use some ideas and suggestions. We're also not having anyone singing or performing during the ceremony.

I don't see anything wrong with it. FH and I do not have a flower girl or ring bearer, either. You could have the families walk in during the processional as well and if time is your concern you can ask a friend to read a bible verse if religious, or a poem

We are having the same, no FG or RB and only 2 people on each side. Our ceremony we have a total of 15 minutes blocked off. We are simply just playing a song and the girls and I will be walking down the aisle, the GM will already be up front. We are not doing programs, I think they are a waste of money. I suggest maybe not even doing programs, especially since your ceremony is 5 minutes, whats the point.

Do you have to have a program? I've always thought they were unnecessary unless it was a Church wedding with readings and hymns.

Even if you have a small bridal party, you can still have a meaningful ceremony! I love when the officiant talks about the couple's backstory, like how they met and who made the first move. That could add a little bit of time to your ceremony Smiley smile

Guess not. My main reason was to have something physical for each guest to reinforce no pics, video or social media during the ceremony.

For that, you can just ask your officiant to make an announcement at the start of the ceremony about no pics, video or social media. You don't need to waste money on programs for that. I've also seen people put up a sign or two at the entrance to the venue and/or ceremony area asking people to put away their phones and be present in the moment with the bride and groom.

Nothing wrong with a small wedding party. We have 2 Bridesmaids 2 Groomsmen and a ring bearer. And we are happy with our choice.
