Hi all!

How do I politely let my guests know that children are not allowed?Smiley atonished

I want my guests, that are parents, to really enjoy themselves and have a good time without worry. Also, my reception will be a restaurant setting and not the ideal place for kids, I think they will be bored. The only "child" in attendance will be my 15 yr old niece.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions/advice!

Thank you! It's also what works out best logistically in this case, so it all kind of came together. I'm just glad our venue has a childcare option!

We talked with all of our guests who had children to make sure they knew it was a child-free event, and made sure our website RSVP set up only allowed the intended guests to RSVP as well as noting the child-free plan on that site.

No one really gave us any trouble about it. Most people were happy for a date night or weekend away.

Thank for replying. We have talked to some of our guests about the "adult event only policy" but with my family they'll probably disregarfd this and show up with their entire crew in tow. Smh

You could also set up your RSVP to say "we have reserved ____ seat(s) for you" on your RSVP card and then have them check if they're going to attend or not. That way they know it's only for the parents. Or you could have an insert with your invitations that states it's a child-free wedding.

Is it custom to write in the blank the number of seats reserved? "we have reserved ____ seat(s) for you"
    Or is this tacky?

I think writing it in is completely fine. It's personal preference though. If you like the look of it being typed in, maybe find someone with a type-writer because I'm not sure if getting customer RSVP's for each guest is even a thing; it probably is though, lol. If it were me, I'd just write it in. Smiley smile

The seat reservation number on the card is a good idea!
