It is top notch, just be mindful of the tipping guidelines and the up charges if you start ordering a lot of drinks.

I haven't cruised NCL but I want to. They have a ship with an open bar that goes to the Caribbean. But Alaska cruises are some of the favorites of my frequent cruiser friends.

I haven't cruised Norwegian, but I have cruised Royal Caribbean many times and I love them. Amazing food, staff is great, ships are top of the line. Be sure to get the drink package and prepay gratuities. Happy sailing!

I love NCL. My family took them a few years back and had a blast. If you and FH drink see if there is a promo for the Beverage Package or something else you want to take advantage of. Also checkout the boards on Cruise Critic as it provides a wealth of information

Good to know about the tipping! I will keep that in mind. I was looking at cruises today and then Norwegian caught my eye because they have a special going on where you can choose free packages and one was the open bar option.

I did a 14 day Mediterranean cruise on NCL. I LOVED it.

Everyone was so kind, sponsered/chosen excursions were awesome, food was good!

My favorite part was the dining- we did a lifestyle cruise I think. I'm not sure the correct term. You could eat at any of the restaurants at any time unlike some cruises that have you pre-select a seating time.

I really want to look into NCL too! We're thinking Greece or Morocco! Let us know how it goes!!

Yes Kate! The Free at Sea sounds so good! That's what caught my eye on NCL. We are big foodies so we may choose the free drink package and the specialty dining package. Thank y'all so much. I think this is for sure what we are going to be booking. Flights, car, hotel, and food for Ireland just doesn't seem doable this year. A cruise to Alaska seems much more reasonable for us right now. Again thank you!!

I just booked a NCL for a Bermuda cruise for 8 days and I'm super excited !! I have never been on NCL, but have done 5 Royal Caribbean and one on Disney, cruises are amazing !!! I hope you have fun

I liked Norwegian! It was a very nice line, a very sophisticated and "adult" (as in not centered around a specifically family atmosphere) line compared to Carnival. Only complaint is that the cabins are smaller than Carnival

We are doing a Norwegian inside passage (AK) cruise for our honeymoon! It's already booked because there's a new ship for 2018. FH and i both lived in Alaska and summer there is incredible. I've heard good things about the line!

Also, I would recommend Alaska in may-june. Later in the summer it's likely to be very wet and rainy (still beautiful)

I love the anytime dining on Norwegian, other lines always gave us the late dinner seating and I could barely stay awake through dinner and had no energy to go watch a show after dinner. Royal Carribeans main dining room was really beautiful compared to Norwegian but We prefer to be awake during our meals. If the drink package is included in the cost consider it but if you are paying for the drink package check into their current drink prices. The last cruise we went on We would have had to each drink at least 10 drinks a day to add up to the cost of it and we just don't drink that much. Norwegian also required everyone in the cabin to buy the drink package. Just not worth it for us. Check the Cruise Critic message boards for the latest information on any cruiseline.

I loved Alaska but the time in ports was short, it's a lot of time on the ship so make sure they have activities you want to do. The scenery is beautiful and we don't mind cool weather or rain but we did get a little bored on the ship some days, different line than Norwegian.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Norwegian is a great choice and one of my favorite cruise lines. The Free at Sea promotion can get you unlimited, open bar and other freebies. You might, depending on budget, want to consider a suite in The Haven, which will give you one of the most amazing experiences ever!

Alaska is beautiful and a wonderful honeymoon option. Lots to see and do and a great way to create some lasting memories.
