Normal price range for makeup

QueenOfTheFall86, on May 25, 2018 at 5:06 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 10
What is a normal or average price range for make up artists? I live in Southern New Jersey and I’ve seen anywhere from $30-$150 and up!!
If anyone could share what they’ve spent or are willing to spend. I’m not sure and I don’t want to over pay. I also want to do a trial and don’t want to end up spending $300 or more on both makeup applications either.

$30 in a high cost of living area is way too cheap IMO. I paid $65 for my makeup on MA but she gave me a discount because it was only me and it was early enough in the day where she could still book another wedding. Her normal rate was $85, but I got quotes that ranged from $75-$150 depending on experience, travel, if a trial was included, etc.

$30 thats crazy good. In my area its about $120 and up (so cal) id say its safe to go in the middle. I strongly believe you get what you pay for id be scared to go to someone im only paying $30 id say safer would be $60-70 and up. But also make sure to look at their reviews and instagrams if they have one

The one for $30 was a friend of a friend but she backed out so of course too good to be true lol.
The girl I’m speaking with now, one of my bridesmaids had her make up done by her before and she’s great but she’s around $110 I think - and that’s not including airbrush.

I live I'm ny and to do my makeup the day off is 120 and for the bridesmaid is 75. That's was actually really cheap compared to all the quotes that I got.

In Seattle it's about 100-200 for makeup only. But my makeup artist is charging 500 for hair and makeup! I know it's pricey, but he's my favorite makeup artist!

I’m in north Jersey and my person is charging $75. I still have to do my trial & hope I like it! I definitely don’t want anything over $100.

I live just outside of DC and here bridal make up ranges from $150-200 and then an additional $50-80 for a trial. Bridesmaids make up is typically $100.

So the trial shouldn’t be the same price?
