Noontime bridal shower?

Kim, on June 10, 2019 at 12:22 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
My mom wants to throw me a bridal shower and wants to start it at noon. What food would be okay to serve? Can we start with sandwiches and take it from there?

This may be a social circle thing, but if I was attending a bridal shower at noon, I’d probably expect a lunch thing. Sandwiches are a start, but I’d add a salad, some fruit, maybe some meatballs or other kind of pasta dish?

Definitely going to be adding more besides the sandwiches. Thank you for the suggestions!

I would be expecting lunch if I attended a shower at noon, so depending on what you’re thinking by sandwiches (a large sub cut up, catered sandwiches from a deli, finger sandwiches, etc) You’ll probably want to add some additional options. Maybe pasta or potato salad, green salad, fruit, veggies. If your mom has a theme, maybe that will help direct food choices.

Yaaasss. Lunch sounds amazing! Personally over all the brunch bridal showers everyone has and I have been to myself. I told my mom I refused to have brunch she's okay with that!

If you start with sandwiches, that's great! But make sure there's enough food to provide a meal since it's at noon!

My shower started at 12 (and ended around 3). It was Italian themed. She had two kinds of pasta, a large salad, caprese appetizers, two large charcuterie boards, artichoke dip, and fruit & veggies.

Definitely have lunch for guests. I had an afternoon tea themed shower so I had sandwiches and a bunch of other finger foods and what not

We're starting mine at 1pm (was going to be noon originally but I'll need more time for hair and makeup) sandwiches are a good start. I will also be adding in more hors devours to round things out as that is lunch time and I want my guests to have a wide selection for a full lunch. fruit, veggie, cheese and cracker trays are good. for heavier hors devours mini quiches, meatballs, mini tacos, lettuce wraps, bacon wrapped dates, pigs in a blanket, boneless wings, etc are go-tos.

Mine started at 11 and brunch was served so guests had the option of having breakfast or lunch.
