Non-traditional Memorable Moments

What is something memorable and meaningful that you've seen, or included in your own wedding, that may be outside of standard traditions? We're planning to have a Fantasy themed wedding.

We had everyone join our first dance after about 30 seconds. It is one of my favorite memories from my wedding.

Something untraditional we're doing is every one will walk down the aisle. I wanted them all (including our officiant) to have a few moments of the spotlight. I hate when half the wedding party just walks in randomly from the side.

One wedding I went to had advice trees in the middle, you would write some advice for the newlyweds on a paper leaf then hang it on a fake tree that was the centerpiece. Also anything that represents culture or something unique about the couple. Like, me and my husbands first date was at a movie theater, so you could do movie tickets as save the dates or a movie themed photo booth telling the back story

Eloping in the Whitw Mountains for sure! The only people who knew were his parents (we're very close to them), and my bestfriend who also was our photographer (this photo was just taken with my phone). We announced to my mom and everyone else one yesterday and reactions were so amazing and heartwarming 😍😭

We each have an adult son. They will escort us down the aisle and stand as our best men. I'm so thrilled to share that moment as a family.

I will be having my 13 year old son walk me down the isle and our wedding party has 6 kids in it. My son(13) will also be a groomsman, my nephew(12) groomsmen, my nephew(6) ringbearer, my daughter (9) bridesmaid, my niece (9) bridesmaid, my niece(5) flower girl. I was married previously and had two kids but never had a wedding just went to courthouse so I am making this as memorable as possible.

My FH & I are not very religious people (but both of our families are mostly catholic or baptist) so we won't be having a religious ceremony i.e. prayer or passage read. My brother is going to be our flower man (he is 21 😂) & my future sister in law (12) is going to be our ring bearer. In lieu of the sand or candle ceremony we will be saying our vows while holding an oathing stone (this is am irish/Scottish tradition - my FH is Irish) - it is said while holding a stone it is cementing our promise to eachother and provides us with a stronger foundation.

We will be having no seating charts at ceremony or reception. Instead of cake we will be having brownies (this is my nickname + I always make him brownies for special occasions cause they're his fav). My first look & father/daughter dance will be with my grandfather (he raised me). Uhmmm, I think that's about it haha.

I'm having a dance with my son and we are inviting parents and younger children into the dance floor with us, since we have a ton of littles joining us that evening). Our son is a huge part of my life (I'm a stay at home mom), so I wanted something with him.
