Non Traditional Bridal Gowns

Jasmine, on December 3, 2019 at 3:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Happy Holidays everyone!

My wedding is next October and I've been trying to find some non traditional gowns. I'm looking for something blush, gold, or even a bolder color than that. I was wondering if any one else here also went this route, and where did you find the most luck in your search?

Thanks!

Definitely cocomelody or azazie! David's Bridal will probably give you a sea of white.

Thats exactly what it’s been. Lol
And most of their colored dresses are blush so it’s not the best spot to start

I got mine at DB, and it's champagne which is an off white more of a cream:

But still really white lol. I would definitely look online first if you want a different color.

Demetrios has a decent collection of blush gowns. I would check out smaller bridal boutiques. I found a lot of non-traditional dresses there (in my area). Especially since it’s the holidays so there are a ton of holiday gowns out.

This is the dress I ended up with (Demetrios). Non Traditional Bridal Gowns 2

I got a CocoMelody dress! If you join their Facebook group, you can see a TON of non-traditionally colored dresses. Mine is "veiled rose" and ivory. It's a subtle mix between blush/champagne that doesn't pop too much in pictures (I'm not a pink person) but people have done things like purples, blacks, reds, etc. The sky is the limit with them. You can customize like crazy, too.

I'd suggest going to regular stores that offer evening gowns or bridesmaid dresses or just any kind of formal Wear. I went nontraditional in the sense that mine is just a prom dress I used as a wedding gown.

I’ve seen some amazing gowns that are non traditional— look for formal gowns online or local shops near you — you’ll find something once you decide on a color !

My dress is lavender, and still very bridal. Mine is Vera Wang. Depending on your budget...Emily Riggs is my recommendation, you can find her on Etsy, and she makes really beautiful wedding dresses that aren't traditional. She mostly makes sheath/column gowns, and I'm too curvy for that, I ended up picking a different designer, but if I hadn't found anything during my search, I'd definitely go with her. We're talking porcelain blues, sea green, gold, silver, you name it. Gorgeous craftsmanship.
