Non-professional Photos

Veronica, on December 11, 2019 at 9:20 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

I am making my wedding album and I have some photos that my sister-in-law took on her cell phone that I would like to include. They are getting ready photos. My photographer didn't get as many as I would have liked so I wanted to use some of the ones my sister-in-law got. I am looking at ordering a flush mount album from Shutterfly. I am worried that the non-professional photos will blurry, fuzzy or pixelated. I am not planning on including the non-professional photos on the same pages as professional photos. Does any have experience with using non-professional photos for their products from Shutterfly? If so how did the photos turn out?

Hey Veronica! I’m sorry that you haven’t found your answer about uploading cellphone images to your wedding book. Have you reached out to Shutterfly for further information about the resolution requirements for photos in this photo book style? I would imagine that their customer care team will be able to offer more insight.

Perhaps if you didn’t enlarge the cellphone photos in your book and created a collage-style look on the pages using lower resolution images, they would turn out clear. This, again, would be something to clarify with the Shutterfly team, but it may give you some more options when trying to use these photos in your wedding book!

Part of the issue is that I got a message that the photos are going to be low resolution, but when I went to adjust them the message disappeared.

I would definitely reach out to Shutterfly for clarification on this as they will know best why this message would disappear.

I did and their explanation made zero sense which is why I wondered if anyone had any experience with using non-professional photos.
