The NEW Mrs. Q
Dedicated November 2010

Non Lingerie Bridal Shower

The NEW Mrs. Q, on June 14, 2010 at 8:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 5

My mother and MIL are UBER conservative and I'd rather not open up lingerie and naughty toys in front of them. I'd like to think that people wouldn't bring them, but I can't be too sure.

We are going to Punta Canta for our honeymoon, so my MOH was thinking of a Fiesta type theme and I was going to request gift cards or purchases from my honeymoon registry.

We haven't done our wedding registries and I really need to control what gifts are brought in.

Thoughts and feedback, please!

I dont know how many guests you have, but probably only those who are close to you are bound to give you such gifts. i would ask them personally to send those naughty gifts during your bachelorette party or during another private time and not give you any surprises. if you arent sure or dont trust, then open each gift very carefully, and secretly put those ones aside Smiley winking

You can definitely drop hints among your close friends/family. But I haven't been to a single bridal shower where that kind of gift was given unless I gave it lol.

The only person I'd have to worry about offending is someone on my FH side. I don't think they'll even come to my shower but my MOH is going to invite them nonetheless. It's more of a pool party/margarita drinkin/game playin' night with close friends & female family members. My Aunt offered to host @ her house, and she has a pool & my MOH thought it'd be a wonderful idea since it'll be August 20th & hot as an MF'er outside here in KY.

I put my MOH in charge of spreading the word on this because not only do I have my catholic inlaws attending but my 10 yr old daughter (and BM) is going to be there. I told MOH that the sexy, fun gifts would be at the bachelorette party but that the bridal shower was to be strictly PG :-)

The only people I have seen give lingerie at Bridal Showers are MOBs. At my shower my mother bought me a white conservative nightie and no one else dared..and I have a wild ManofHonor....he knew better...lol Don't worry I'm sure if they are invited to the shower they know you and your family enough to know what is accepted and not...
