Non-Floral Centerpieces

T2018, on October 24, 2017 at 3:32 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 32

Show me your flower-less centerpieces! I'm not sure what direction we want to go in centerpiece wise so I'm looking for inspiration!

I don't have a picture but we are doing lanterns (venue provided) with rose petals and gold candles. Flowers were way out of our budget but just petals will be less than $200.

@Danielle yeah we've got a bit of room in the budget for flowers- but if I can save a few doing beautiful flower-less centerpieces I definitely wouldn't complain! Flowers are so pricey!

No picture yet, but I have some tall rectangular glass vases that I'm putting 12 x 3" white pillar candles in with greenery halo at the bottom. Similar to the look attached! We are having 27 tables - 7 with the candles, 7 with those same vases but flower arrangements seated on top, 8 taller glass vases with curly willow and white flowers, 5 with short square glass vases and flower arrangement.

I don't have pics but we were at a wedding last winter that just used buttloads of candles (some real, some LED) of varying sizes in glass containers to match their shapes. super minimalist and so pretty.

@Caitlin that sounds pretty! I definitely do want to do something minimal-ish and chic. But also pretty enough that people will be like "OMG YASS SO CUTE" when they see them. Haha!

We spent about $17 per centerpiece for everything including the cost of the glass vase.

Mine are pretty close to this but the branches are painted gold. No buds or flowers.

Agreeing with the candles. We are going to have greenery running down both of our tuscan-style tables, however we are also going to have a ton of different sized candles. I think it would be just as pretty with simply candles. Only if your venue allows real ones, though (IMO)

@MrsJones yeah I have to double check our contract because I'm not so sure about tons of LED candles. That could look rough!

We used water beads in the vases, and I found these little water proof LED lights to put inside. We used book titles instead of table numbers for seating assignments (because...nerds).

ETA the paper flowers are not part of the centerpiece...that's my SIL/brides maid's bouquet.

I'm planning to do succulents, so still a plant, but no flowers. I know it's done a lot, but our venue is in the desert, so it really goes well.

Current plan: Glass thing (wide; don't know what to call it) with LED candle in it, surrounded by home-grown & preserved boxwood.

These were the centerpieces from a friend's wedding. Beach theme, real shells and sand.
