Non-eucalyptus garland centerpieces

Vicki, on February 25, 2019 at 9:48 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 9
At the reception we are doing 3 rows of 4 8ft rectangular tables. My original vision had been eucalyptus garlands with gold lanterns and clear votives, and maybe some white flowers mixed in. But eucalyptus is so much pricier than I thought, especially since I need nearly 100ft of it just for the tables (the cheapest I can find is about $7.50/ft). I've looked at loose branches but am concerned that will look sloppy. Does anyone have any recommendations on other greenery they've used, or centerpieces for long tables they've seen and loved? We are getting married in September on a farm, so am not really incorporating in much color for the decor.

Adding a link to what my inspiration has been so far (but with gold lanterns instead of black). Since it's New England, in the Fall, with beautiful gardens, I want to keep this as simple (and hopefully inexpensive) as possible

I don't know much about other greenery since we're going with eucalyptus, but have you considered fake greenery? Hobby Lobby has some $20/6' and they frequently do 50% off sales for their florals.

I thought about it but I'd really like to use fresh if I can. Even if it's a different kind of greenery or other option to fill the tables.

Baby's breath with or without a few blooms could be really cute around the lanterns

Sam's Club has reasonably priced eucalyptus garlands. Don't have to be a member to buy them. They will deliver as well. No worries about receiving them a day or two before the big day, they guarantee their flowers and I personally have never had a single bouquet from there start to wilt before 7-10 days.

Sam's club is $200 for 25 feet. Times that by 4 and that's $800, which is over half of my budget. Just trying to find an option that's a little more affordable!

I totally get what you're saying as I am kind of dealing with the same issue.

I think you'll be hard-pressed to find fresh eucalyptus at a better deal than Sam's, which is why I am actually planning on going to my local craft stores and peeping at their fake stuff to see if it will work. Most of the big-box stores have coupons for single items so if you plan ahead, you could cut your price more than in half vs. the fresh. I know I hated the idea of going with fake at all at first, but money talks and I've gotten a little warmed up to the idea since my flowers will still be fresh.

I also don't think the loose stems would look bad- perhaps buy enough to make a mock-up and see if you can make it work!

I was set on eucalyptus too, but I think we are going to do this instead!
