Non-dollar Dance Dance..

Lauren, on May 30, 2019 at 10:48 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6

So, my husband wants to do a dollar dance. (We are recently married but planning a huge reception in Sept.)

I told him I didn't want to do it, but would be fine with having a dance where the guests can come dance with us, but not have to give money. His suggestion was monopoly money. HA! He said we will hand out monopoly money to each guest for them to use.

This dance gives us the opportunity to have one-on-one time with each guest, if they are interested.

My question, what should we call this dance?

I don't think the money at all is necessary, maybe just a friends & family dance and the DJ can explain to guests they can come up anytime to dance with you guys?

I don’t remember if I saw this here or on Facebook, but one couple gave their guests fake money asked them to write a message or piece of advice for the marriage on it to use for their dollar dance. I thought that was a cute idea.

That's what I was thinking, but the hubs insists on money. Not sure why, but at least he is willing to compromise and make it fake money. If he can do that, I can compromise too. Smiley smile

I agree I don't think the Monopoly money is necessary. I've heard of dances where people are invited to just cut in. Maybe you start to dance together then have the DJ announce that people are welcome to cut in. You'll have your BM and MOH (or someone else) lined up to start the cutting in with the hopes that other guests will follow suit.

Maybe you could call this a Monopoly Dance instead!

I thought about this as well! But we already have our guests writing advice or notes on our card box. :/
