I think we are doing Forever Young by Rod Stewart. Not country, but I wouldn't really call it sappy either (I didn't want a sappy song though). It fits my dad's style the best too. Have you asked your dad for his opinion?

My dad suggested we do "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion. I did the song for a talent show on year, and he was really proud of me doing it!
I didn't win (the popular/prep girls who couldn't sing at all, won all 3 places), but the song has a lot of sentimental meaning to us!

I doubt anyone will remember what song your sister and father used, so you could use one of them. DH’s brother used the same wedding song as we did (many years after us) and I doubt anyone noticed - except for maybe my sister and DH because it was my favourite song since I was 11.

ETA - I danced with my father to Tough Little Boys by Garry Allen. Definitely country and definitely sappy, but it’s about a man who was this tough little boy, but he grew up to be a dad and he turned into a big baby again. There’s even a part about giving you away (no, I’m not property and had that part taken out of my wedding- but it is in the song) one day.
