Non-alcoholic toast beverage

Mrs_MLF, on April 12, 2016 at 4:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 25

I swear, by the time I get married I'll need to get all of you gifts for planning my wedding lol. I post just about every question I have and you all have been fantastic about answering & giving such good advice & ideas.

My newest debacle: Because of the meds I'm on I cannot have alcohol. Skipping my meds for the day is not an option. I need ideas for a toast beverage. I am not partial to grape juice but for the life of me cannot think of anything else to use.

Sparkling apple juice for you, champagne for your guests if they would like it.

Can you have a drink in your wedding colors maybe? We are having the caterer making Sonic Ocean water which is blue. What about a lemonade?

I've never heard of sparkling lemonade, but it sounds amazing! I was going to suggest sparkling cider.

Here's a link to some good sparkling, non-alcoholic beverages that are suitable for toasting. Since (I assume) you're the only one not toasting with alcohol, make sure to remind the event manager that you cannot have alcohol due to a potential medication interaction. In fact, I'd ask them to put a clause in your contract guaranteeing you a sparkling beverage in your champagne flute. It would be horrible if a mistake happened, and with all of that pouring going on, you need to cover yourself.

Every wedding I've been to has had sparkling cider for under aged guests/guests who don't drink and champagne for those who do. Just do that, and take the sparkling cider yourself!

I'm in the same situation as you, don't drink and really can't drink because of some meds. Thinking of a "virgin" cocktail or a sparking juice.

    Water.

    Guess who will notice?

    No one!

I don't drink, and used my water glass to toast.

I love just regular sparkling water.

And ya.... I'm a bit surprised why you can't thin of anything but grape juice as well! Lol

It doesnt have to be sparkling for you to participate in a toast. You can toast with plain old coca-cola if thats what you like to drink.... Don't stress over the small details like this.

Sparkling raspberry lemonade sounds amazing. Or soda. That is always good haha. I think you should drink what you like to drink normally!

We had sparkling apple cider for guests, although if they wanted to toast with their beer or wine they could do that too... and then we used beer.

Just for you right? You can toast with absolutely ANYTHING!

If you are talking about not supplying alcohol for all your guests because you cant drink, I would suggest you leave out the toast all together and possible re-consider that idea.

My sister and her husband don't drink and their wedding they had sparkling cider. You'd never know the difference!

Also, you should have your bartender make you some fun mocktails throughout the reception. Seltzer with flavored syrup, bitters, and phosphate is AWESOME!
