The family friend whom we are paying to cater the food is suggesting just soda, water, and hugs juice for the kids (1/3 of the expected guests will be kids... think about 20). I feel like after everything it's very anti-climatic. The food will be served buffet style and it is a bit of a mixture: We have rice, Pernil (which is roasted pork), Buttered Cubed Even-Roasted Potatoes, Chicken in Italian Dressing, Green Beans, Corn on the Cob, and a Salad.

She feels is not necessary to offer anything to eat while the guests are waiting for us to get pictures done, prior to lunch being served.

Thoughts? Do you think that with that time schedule we would need to provide appetizers during the picture hour?

I'm just thinking about whether people are going to have enough time to eat and get ready prior to the wedding considering most have larger families. I brought that specific concern up and she stated that's the guests' problem, not ours. I feel that is very inconsiderate. But IDK. I've only been to two weddings. One where they did serve appetizers (that wedding is way out of our budget) and one where they didn't (I don't remember if appetizers were served for that one).

I don't drink Juice or Soda, so I'll be stuck drinking water all night on my wedding day.. how do I make it so that it doesn't feel so anti climatic?

I like the options of lemonade/ Iced tea as I also don't drink soda/juice and it's your special day why would you have only 1 option WATER at your wedding. The day is about you why wouldn't they give you options?

As far as your guest problems ummmm no that's your problem you invited them and people remember and talk about bad food/not enough food and bad music. I understand things get pricey but drinks a chips and dip station, fruit platter, crudites is not that expensive.

I think her main concern is that we are going to have such a big lunch that people won't want to eat if they snack prior to it being served.
