Non-alcoholic drinks?

Lauren, on June 8, 2019 at 9:32 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11

We are having a lunch reception. Buffet opens at Noon, guests arrive at 11. Open bar of wine and beer will be open as soon as guests arrive, as well as regular drinks. We will possibly open our salad buffet when they arrive too. (Is it even needed to have food during "cocktail hour"?)

Anyway, my real question is, what non-alcoholic drinks should we have? We don't want hot drinks as we are doing this ourselves and don't have a good way to make a lot of hot coffee or hot cocoa, along with having to get sugar, creamer, etc. We aren't really wanting to have soda either. Would it be enough to do just water, a juice, and a caffeinated juice?

I think water, juice, and a caffeinated juice would be enough to supplement the other drinks!

That sounds plenty! Lemonade would also be nice and refreshing

I think lemonade and ice tea would be better than juice for a lunch reception. Maybe some cans of sparkling water too? You dont need a ton of choices, just a little variety.

Oh shoot, I forgot to mention iced tea! So what we were thinking for non-alcoholic drinks was water, juice (lemonade), a caffeine juice (maybe like a crystal light with caffeine), and iced tea.

I think water (or fancy water like with strawberries & mint, or cucumbers), ice tea, lemonade & a few soda options are plenty. 😊

When my family has had parties with no alcohol, like a baby or bridal shower, we make what we call celebration punch. In a punch bowl we add a gallon of Hawaiian punch, whatever flavor sounds good, a 2liter of 7UP or sprite, and then scoop sherbet, usually rainbow flavor on the top. I'ts always a huge hit and goes with all food

I actually just mentioned punch to my husband! Lol. Not sure how to go about making such a huge amount though, unless we ask our caterer to make more as needed.

Maybe two punchbowls? i'm sure the caterer could do that. For my niece's baby shower last November we went through a ton. I had bought two of the gallons of blue punch, 2 two-liters, and a gallon of sherbet I ran out of that after the first batch and had to use ice instead.

Hi there! So, I'm having my wedding later this year at a Jeffrey A Miller catering venue, and since all of the food is included with the venue, and it's a very rustic (and absolutely beautiful!) farm-to-table place, they've given us a LOT of non-alcoholic drink options!!! Here's just a few: cucumber water, lavender lemonade, iced sweet tea, mint lemonade, and chilled apple cider! There's so many cheap and easy options if you just get a little creative with some classic beverages!

I think different kinds of soda are always nice, I also think something like pineapple juice or apple juice, then iced tea or flavored water!
