nola or no

Amy, on January 22, 2020 at 2:32 PM Posted in Louisiana Planning 0 9
To anyone who planned/ing or attended/ing a wedding in New Orleans, how was it? Where and what time of year was it?

I'm highly considering changing our location to NOLA bc it's more ceneral to both families and we absolutely love it there! Fiancé is originally from Lake Charles (however no family is there anymore). Plus I'm a southern belle so it fits.

My best friend got married in NOLA in November a couple of years ago. It was an indoor wedding at the Eiffel Society but the weather was pretty decent outside. It was nice!

I’ve had 2 friends get married in NoLa. The street marching is the highlight of the wedding!

New Orleans weddings are so beautiful, don’t think you would regret it. There’s plenty for your guests to do before and after the wedding plus you can do a second line after!

Just keep in mind that New Orleans is very expensive!! I live in Baton Rouge and searched for a venue all over the surrounding areas and as long as you can afford it, New Orleans is great!! You can probably do a super cheap wedding with 100 guests for about $50,000 and that's a lot of diy projects. I went with a gorgeous place in Ponchatoula for 100 guests all inclusive for $8,500 witha $15,000 budget. Good luck!!

Thank you for the great advice. Our plan is to rent an estate for a week off of Airbnb or Vrbo that allows events. There are a few that host weddings all the time. Our budget is $10,000 and we'll have up to 50 guests.

    Hey Ladies,

New Orleans is no longer an option my love! Please see link below!

The festival announced late Friday that it will move its July 1-5 dates "closer to the fall."

I have a lot of sympathy for all the brides struggling during this time. That being said, our wedding is a longgg time away and I hope there will not be a crisis when our big day rolls around. NOLA is probably going to be our location, but if that doesn't work out then it will likely be in Colorado.
