No wedding favors- tacky?

I'm really considering nixing the wedding favors. I can't say that if I ever left a wedding without a wedding favor that I'd go around saying, "Omg I can't believe so&so didn't have wedding favors!!" Tacky to skip it??

I'm just getting these for favors, they are little 2 piece truffle boxes. But our ribbon is going to be teal and we'll have our names on them. I figure I might as well give the family and friends a little thanks for everything.

Love the photo booth idea. That's what I will do instead of paying 300$ for m&m's with my name on it! And 150 for boxes to put them in.. My nerves!

People will just toss the box ( even tho I was planning a tiffanys box) to the side!

I'm having an Irish wedding so if my guests all go home with the shoes and hand bags it will be a massive result!

What about a favor that can be used after the ceremony? Olive oil, honey, jams...you can still do a personalized/custom label with your names and the date.

We're not offering favors but we'll have Lindor truffles scattered on tables for people to have as they please. It's something non branded and something we can take home or give away. Most people we asked aren't a fan of branded gifts because it's not personalized to them.
As weddings and other events progress, we're seeing a lot less branded gifts for the simple facts that providing them is an instant increase in cost/time & they don't really seem to excite the recipient. Ask yourself, "would I want a tumbler from Tim & Maria's wedding from 1996 in my cuppboard?" If the answer is "no", move on to planning something else.
