I was thinking of just not getting a band until i find one i actually want and it can even be a nice anniversary present down one year.

Opinions? Are you going to be getting a wedding band or just sticking with the e-ring?

Ms. M., I'd find an independent (non-chain) established with a good reputation jeweler in your city. If s/he can't fix it, maybe a new ring can be made from a cast of the old ring.

I think this is another personal preference thing. For me, I HAVE to have a band...I don't know why, I just do. When we were looking at rings, the sales lady said there are so many people who don't wear bands anymore.

I think most people still get a band, but I'm not getting the band that goes with mine either. I like it just the way it is.

I have both my grandma's wedding rings, which is really special. I will use one or both during the ceremony as the wedding band, but I'm not getting them soldered together - they are all best on their own, so I will just alternate, I guess, ha!

You do t need a band , just use your e ring. I have small fingers too, and the wedding band he bought is kinda bulky.

Nancy, thanks for the advice! I took it to an independent jeweler to get it sized down, but I wasn't that impressed. I'm still looking. Smiley smile

Mine wasn't a set, but FH purposely got one that would look good with many bands. He's really that type of person to think about that kind of stuff. We just picked out our bands the other day! Smiley smile I can't wait to wear it with my e-ring! And I have munchkin fingers... truly.

I totally understand not wanting a band though. I've seen so many rings that definitely should be stand-alone pieces. And shame on anyone who assumes you aren't married just because you don't have a band.

Bumping this topic. I just got my e-ring to replace my "holder" ring. I am wearing the holder on the right ring finger.

My e-ring is much bigger than I've ever worn. I also have thin fingers. It looks like it has a delicate enhancer on it already. I can't imagine making it any bigger with another band. It really does look like an e-ring/wedding band combo as is.

So, what are people doing for the ceremony? I'd still like to exchange rings. Do I take the e-ring off and put it back on during the ceremony or what? I guess I could get a tiny little $50 band just for the ceremony.

Has anyone else figured out what they are going to do?
