No videographer..alternatives?

We set up our digital camera on a tripod. Brand new batteries and memory card to help ensure no issues. My brother was in charge of turning it on and off. He got the ceremony, first dance, speeches, and parent dances. The best video? No, but at least we have something to look back on.

My FSIL’s partner will be filming our ceremony on my Canon DSLR, and then I’m just encouraging friends to take any other videos they want throughout the night

Disclaimer: I have not tried any of these, but there are apps you can download and have guests upload their own videos and pictures. Just google wedding video app. There are different ones, I believe there is a fee, but most likely cheaper than an actual videographer.

We just forewent a video. We haven't missed it.

For us, if guests want to take videos, that is no problem at all. It would be fine. We don't have a videographer, however my aunt (who is our wedding photographer) may decide to take some vids if she likes. Either way, we won't be missing it.
