No rose petals?

So our venue won’t allow rose petals (of ANY kind) or anything of the sort. We’re allowed birdseed or bubbles but I’m thinking more of the flower girl. Anyone else run into this problem? What did/will you do?

That is very strange because they are biodegradable very quickly. Unless they mean silks which do not break down. If a place is that strict, they will not allow birdseed...which hurts when it hits you. Go with bubbles if you can or skip it.

I know! I even suggested someone can clean them up after the ceremony but they still said no🤷🏼‍♀️ We wanted to have a funny flower “girl,” moment where one of our male family members danced down the aisle and tossed flower petals so I really don’t want to skip it but I don’t know what else we can do!

Not even fake flowers that someone could quickly clean up after the ceremony?

Hi Morgan! For the flower girl, a floral head crown and a small bouquet would be adorable!! ❤️ Could your funny moment take place in the street or outdoors just off their property? 😉

That is so strange. What about having them carry flower rings instead?

I've seen flower girls carry those flower balls, I don't know the technical term haha but they look cute carrying them!

A lot of flower girls will just hold signs saying some thing like here comes the bride

We weren’t allowed petals so we didn’t have a flower girl.

So strange that they won't allow something that's also biodegradable and easy to clean up...

Would you be able to substitute for lavender buds? It's not the same as petals, but it still has that flower aspect, smells great, and can look pretty with it's light color!

I think it would help better if you clarified who your flower girl is going to be. I saw you mentioned a 'funny fg' moment with a male friend, will you have that AND a normal flower girl as well?

Tone's suggestion of the paper heart cut outs is great, and also easy to clean up!

Gotcha! I've seen videos of those and they're pretty hilarious haha!!

Bubbles,, lavender buds, and the heart cut-outs seem like great options that could work!

I like the lavender bud idea! I’ll have to call and ask!

Hopefully they'll allow that! I wouldn't consider them part of the 'no flower petals' rule, but you never know!

What are their reasons for no flower petals? If it's something like "hard to clean up" I can imagine lavender buds would be even worse because they're so tiny?

I don’t remember exactly. I think it was something like endangering the natural wildlife/plants🤷🏼‍♀️

Depending on age you can give her a corsage and just have her walk down the raise
