No reception!

Hello Ladies, I am planning to have a ceremony and dinner after with my guest maybe at a restaurant. I really don’t care to have a full blow reception. Have any of you planned something like that? I would love to hear how you it went or what you did.

That’s the same way we feel. We don’t want like all the attention and the first dance and dance with parents and all the other stuff that comes with it. I want to be able to spend time with my family and talk with everyone.

We are getting married in Maui with a small guest list and my fiance at first was adamant about having a big reception back here in MD, but he didn't realize our guest count would be over 100 and how much it would cost.

After I looked into an actual dozen venues/restaurants and told him the price he realized that it was not worth it!
Instead we are having a big catered and open bar engagement party at our house. After we get back from Hawaii we will send out magnets with a wedding photo that introduces us as husband and wife with an invite to come out and bar hop with us!
