No more Invisalign!! Yay!

SoontobeMrsO, on March 9, 2016 at 3:42 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

After a year of using Invisalign to straighten my teeth, I am finally done! I am so happy with the results. Just wanted to share my excitement!

Just in time for my wedding.

Congrats! Your teeth look great. How long did you wear it for?

Your teeth look great. Did you to wear it every day all day? I've thought about getting this.

@Monee_Darnel Every single day... for about 20-22 hours of the day. They recommend you wear them for 22 hours a day.

I know a girl who said she didn't "need to" use them for 22 hours and she's had them for almost 4 years. So, if you use them correctly, everything goes as planned. Smiley smile

Thanks. I definitely have to check this out. I've been wanting to see it on someone other than a commercial.

YAY!!!! Congrats!! I was so happy when I finished mine too!

I had them for about six months last year. (I had already had braces and since I didn't wear my retainer my teeth moved and thus the need for the Invisalign... Stupid me...)

For the people considering them: at first I HATED them, but that only lasted about a week. It just took me a while to get used to the feeling of having them in my mouth. After the first week, it was still really annoying to have to take them out and brush my teeth after every single meal or snack or non-water drink, but it was sooo worth it in the end. And eventually you do get used to that. It did help me cut down on snacking and helped me to drink more water (only thing you should drink with them in).

Now that they're off, I still wear the retainer every single night. I do NOT want to end up with crooked teeth for the third time, haha. I learned my lesson I guess.

The only time I found the retainer to be a problem was recently when I was sick and my medicine made my mouth extremely dry, which the retainer already does that, so that was really annoying. But other than that it's been fine. Just gotta remember to brush it after taking it out in the morning. Same with the trays during the process. Do not skip on brushing them every time you take them out. Otherwise they will stink and get really gross, really quickly.

Ah, your smile looks amazing, congrats! I'm so jealous of those of you that can get invisalign. I had such a bad underbite that only 5 years of hardcore braces could correct it. It took soooo long.

JEALOUS, your smile looks great! I had 10 trays but they didn't do a perfect job so I'm getting another set. Womp womp. I told the orthodontist they have to be off by June 1, absolutely no exceptions Smiley smile

Thanks ladies!!!! It really was a challenge at first. But, the end result was

definitely worth it. The good thing about this is that if you still have them on your wedding day, you can take them out. Smiley smile

    Congrats! Your smile is gorgeous!

I am supposed to be on my last set of trays, but I have one annoying tooth that won't straighten. I have a feeling I'm in for a few more sets.

Thank you Smiley smile @amytherese I do too... my ortho is giving me a few months to think about whether I want to get a few more trays for that one tooth or just leave it as is. It's pretty close to perfect so I'm gonna give it until after my wedding to decide.

Nice! That's a great feeling. I had braces for 4 years in middle & high school. Make sure to maintain your new smile with retainers or whatever they give you!
