No longer as excited about getting married :(

on June 8, 2019 at 7:59 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11
I’m beyond excited about getting married to my fiancé! I love him and we’ve been together for forever, and quite frankly we’re perfect for each other. That’s not the reason I’m not excited.

We we have visited 3 venues since our venue burnt down this past Monday. We visited a historical hotel, which was cramped/musty and expensive for no reason. And today we visited two banquet halls.

Our original venue was so sleek and modern and PERFECT! And the whole venue was OURS! I’m so mad that we have to choose a banquet hall or something that isn't us because of this fire. I almost started crying today when a woman giving a tour asks what made us love our old venue.

Aw I'm sorry. But at the end of the day it's about celebrating your union and although it may not be exactly what you pictured, it'll still be beautiful and yours Smiley smile

Awe that stinks. On the plus side the lady that asked why you loved your venue seems like she is trying to help.

I know that has got to be so heartbreaking. Picking the right venue was the first thing on my to-do list, as I knew that was one of the most important things to me as far as my vision of my wedding went, and if I didn't get something I loved it could have turned me full-on bridezilla. I can't imagine the pain of having to deal with this. Sending you all my best wishes to find a venue that will make you feel a little better at least Smiley heart

Have you considered a destination wedding!??? If you can’t find what you’re looking for there, maybe elsewhere??

Thank you everyone! I know that at the end of the day I’m marrying my best friend, but I had just pictured it this certain way and style for literally a year!!

I don’t think we’d be able to afford one Smiley sad trying to do everything in less than $30k for 175 people!

My original venue was in Indiana! But we’re actually looking around where we live now in the north/northwest suburbs of Chicago. We’re really hoping to not have to go with a banquet hall

Is Milwaukee too far? The Milwaukee Art Museum is beautiful and might fit your vision. I have no idea if that works with your budget ($30k for 175 people sounds very tight compared to the city I was married in) because I don’t know ballpark figures for other elements like food and flowers in that area. https://mam.org/info/details/weddings.php
