No Garter Toss for Him... but Yes to a Football!

That's really cute! My fiance isn't super into football, but he doesn't want to do the whole taking the garter off of me either. I remember seeing some of those on Etsy.

I actually showed this to my fiance and he says it reminded him of the movie The Room where they are always tossing footballs around in their tuxes and he actually loves the idea since we also love The Room.

Aha. Alternatives to the garter removal are possible. This is another vote against the garter toss. I think the actual garter tradition only could continue on its own momentum. Once, after losing its momentum, it brings to focus some level of embarrassment around family and relatives when we do this as newlyweds. But the family and relatives often will just see it as a little traditional nudge toward intimacy.

I absolutely love this idea! I never really liked the idea of a garter toss and didn't have any idea of what to do instead, but this is a great idea for an alternative! Our wedding is in November, and my fiancé and I are big into the football season. Thank you so much for sharing this!
