No flower girl/ring bearer?

Brittany, on September 30, 2020 at 9:34 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 16
Has anyone done or been to a wedding where they didn't have a flower girl and/or ring bearer? If so, how did it work? At minimum, who carried the rings? We don't have kids in the family and have cut our event down to 50 people so I'm wondering if this is a formality we could skip? We already have 13/50 up front (bride and groom, family friend officiant, 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen). Our siblings are already in wedding party. Unfortunately can't use our dog because the venue is a zoo lol

We didn't have a ring bearer. Even if we did, they wouldn’t have carried the rings. I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen a ring bearer carry the rings.

We aren’t having a flower girl or ring bearer. Honestly the main kids in my family are spoiled brats prone to meltdowns and I just knew I couldn’t take that on our wedding day. I know I’ve been to weddings that had one but not the other. And there was one wedding that had their dog as their flower girl. My MOH will hold his ring and the Best Man will hold my ring. Typically you don’t give the real rings to the kid anyway, they just carry a pillow with cheap rings tied on.

Agree with others. Daughter had 2 RBs and 2 FGs, but the best man carried the rings in a small ring box and handed it to the officiant when he asked for them. There is no way daughter would have turned the rings over to a 6 & 10 yr old! Smiley winking

Countless weddings skip the ringbearer and flowergirl. The florist may have petals already scattered or skip it. The best man and maid of honor (or just one) keeps track othe real rings and the kids serve no function beyond aesthetics.

We had a ring bearer and two flower girls, but we still didn't give the ring bearer our rings
We gave them to the best man. It is pretty common not to actually give the ring bearer the ri gs especially if they are young because there is a chance he could lose them. I have been to weddings without a ring bearer or flower girl and they just gave the rings to the best man like we did.

We aren’t having a bridal party at all. So, FH will hold them in a box in his jacket pocket and hand the rings to the officiant for them to be blessed and exchanged.

I’ve been to several weddings that didn’t have them, and I won’t be having any either. You just skip that part of the processional. It’s no big deal! The best man should have the rings, regardless of the ring bearer situation.

I don’t have a ring bearer or flower girl, it’s an adult only wedding. I bought this https://weddingshop.theknot.com/product/rose-gold-pocket-wedding-ring-holder-with-chain

And the best man will just put it in his pocket

We didn't have a ring bearer or flower girl. The best man carried the rings. Didn't even use a ring box I think he just put them in his pocket.

We aren't going to be using either because we are also having a 50 person wedding. All of our guests are married and their children are grown except for 2 of FH cousins who are 16 and 13. We just didn't have a need for it and I'm ok with that. We discussed the rings and his dad (best man) will hold them.

We’re not having either as well. We planned for the maid of honor to hold the groom’s ring and for the best man to hold the bride’s ring.

I have flower girls but no ring bearer. We were thinking of having my FH's dogs be the ring bearer and carry the rings on the collar, but decided to just have the best man carry the rings.

Interesting item, FH is having a best woman who will be wearing a dress, maybe I could find something similar that's a necklace or other thing that doesn't require pockets (unless Azazie dresses have pockets and I didn't see it haha)
