No flower girl!

Trisha, on June 20, 2017 at 9:40 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 19

Hello ladies! My wedding isn't for awhile, my fiancée and I are working out getting out of school/building a house. However, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I have no flower girl! I have 5 boys under the ages of 7 in my family & his combined, but not one girl on either side. I want to have all the boys, but I don't know what to have them do, and I need a flower girl but I don't know anyone who I would want. I need advice/ideas/help. Thank you in advance!

Well, you don't necessarily need a flower girl! Don't put someone random in that special position if you don't have anyone.

My only suggestion is to skip it. It's not mandatory, and if you don't have anyone to fill the role, that's okay. We aren't having a flower girl. IMO it's one less thing to have to coordinate.

You don't need one. We didn't have a FG or ring bearer.

Our grandmothers will be walking down the isle for this. I absolutely love the idea of incorporating them Smiley smile

I've seen the grandmothers be the flower girls before. It's really adorable and it involves them too.

You don't need a flower girl! The last two weddings I went to did not have them. I have a relative that had her three nephews as her ring bearers. They all carried signs and it was adorable!

    Um,....there are guys here too.

And you don't need them. The FG's, not the guys.

ETD: wait a second...your wedding is OVER TWO YEARS AWAY???

This isn't even an issue yet.

You never know you might have a friend or family member have a girl by then so I wouldn't stress it for awhile!

We also both come from families with boys only. Although I really wanted a FG, I also don't want some random child in our wedding and pictures that doesn't mean anything to us. We decided to skip having one altogether.

You could have a two year old in the family by the time your weddings comes around. Not something to worry about right now!

Girl. Wait about another year and a half and come back and ask this question.

Actually it still won't be an issue then come to think of it.

Tell your friends to get busy and make you a flower girl. By 2019 the not yet conceived flower girl should be walking.

We don't have a flower girl because we don't know any little girls either - none in the family or friends. I haven't thought twice about it. We could have a ring bearer, but probably won't do that either.
