No flower girl or ring bearer?

Elizabeth, on August 9, 2017 at 8:46 AM Posted in Planning 0 44

I will end up with roughly 50-60 guests. However, no one I know, or that is coming to the wedding is the right age to be flower girl or ring bearer.

The closest option is we might have a 1 year old boy coming as a guest.

I have also heard of flower grandmas, but that seems odd to me.

Ideas anyone?? TIA!

No, please don't do flower girl grandmas, that's so strange.

We're not having any children in our wedding. No reason specifically, just didn't see the need/want.

Skip them! Having a FG or RB isn't a requirement.

Flower girl grandmas is strange. Just skip them. We're not having a FG or RB. My son is the only kid in the wedding and he is going to be my man of honor. I don't want kids at my wedding, and definitely not in it.

We are skipping the flower girl. I have my 3 year old nephew as the ringbearer.

I agree with PP, a flower grandmother does sound a bit strange. I would just skip it!

It is totally fine to skip these, the best man can have the rings already.

Though, did you see the article a few weeks ago about the bride's bother who was the flower man? Very funny Smiley smile

I only had a flower girl. She's my niece and she was 7 which was a little older than traditional. You don't need to have a ring bearer or flower girl. I'd rather have none than add a child that I don't really "know" or feel close with. Best of luck!

You don't have to have either! There will be a couple kids at my wedding but neither are immediate family so we are skipping! It's one less logistic you have to think about too!

I'm having no BP including no RB or FG and I am so happy about that. One less moving piece to fit together and stress about.

I'm skipping both for logistics/budget reasons plus I don't actually think it's cute. Come to think of it, I don't think my venue allows throwing anything either.

We are skipping both of them. We are having an adult wedding unless our guest has just had a baby. You can absolutely skip having them.

I never saw the purpose of the follower girl, but my sister (14) wanted to carry the rings so she's the RB.

The entire wedding party, including ring bearer and flower girl, are completely optional. I would not ask a guest to have their kid be a part of my wedding processional unless they're close family or a good friend where it won't read as "We don't know anyone else age-appropriate to do this with".

I agree with PPs, skip it. Its an added cost that could be used for something else wedding-related.

I am not having a ring bearer or flower girl. Just not important to me to have either one.
