No first look/ timeline for pictures

BrideToBe101, on June 15, 2017 at 11:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

I don't want to do a first look. I am thinking I could let everyone else take pictures before the wedding and just get those including me after the wedding. Well of course I could go ahead and get pics with the ladies of BP. Those of you who didn't do a first look how did you do everything. I was thinking we could use some of the cocktail hour to finish up with pictures??

We went with having a second shooter because we're also not doing a first look. We'll do getting ready and wedding party photos separately, candids during the ceremony, and formals during cocktail hour while our guests enjoy some apps and drinks. Then both shooters will be with us throughout the reception.

FH and I actually had to move our ceremony time up an hour so we'd have light during the formals. Thankfully our venue was a-okay with it, but we'll be dealing with a 5:35 pm sunset time. It looks like your wedding is in the summer so you'll have more time. When does your ceremony start?

That should give you plenty of time for good light assuming you don't have anything crazy planned. Talk to your photographer. They'll be able to setup a timeline with you.

I am doing pictures with my BM's, family and probably a few by myself before the ceremony. FH will take pictures with his family, his kids and GM's before the ceremony. After ceremony, during cocktail hour, we'll talk all our couples pictures, pictures with the families, etc. My photographer said it'll take up the entire hour.

We didn't do a first look. Some of cocktail hour was used for pictures of H &a I and some were portraits. And then we just did some portraits throughout the day, because my mom was being pushy about it.

I am not doing a first look either, and asked my photographer for a timeline idea. They were super helpful. Between family photos, wedding party, and just the two of us they told us to plan on about 2 hours. We are planning on doing the guys/ girls shots ahead of time so it may be a little shorter. I would highly recommend asking your photographer!
