No fake petals allowed

Erin, on August 2, 2017 at 9:50 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 15

Looking for suggestions for the flower girl. I just found out my venue does not allow us to use anything that isn't decomposable. I guess that means I would have to check a florist for real petals but not sure of the cost and we are already over budget. Any ideas?

Try groceries stores they tend to have a good selection of flowers for a decent price.

3-4 roses is probably enough for your aisle, unless you're walking the Grand Canyon of aisles. In my area, that'll run you about $12-15. You could potentially get that amount for even cheaper through a grocery store, it's not a huge expense.

Maybe ecofetti (https://ecoparti.com/ecofett)?Etsy also has some reasonable freeze-dried rose petals if you're just looking for the flower girl's basket. I'm looking into the freeze-dried petals if we do a send-off because I don't want to toss (pretty) plastic trash into the city streets.

I think for my 4 flower girls from the florist it is $40 total. Petals aren't that expensive.

Are you sure real petals are allowed? Our venue (church) does not allow either and we're doing a miniature bouquet.

What about buying a hole punch of a shape (heart or star or something) and punch holes out of colorful leaves?

Our chapel doesn't allow anything to be tossed on the floor of the chapel or outside on the ground. We're going to do pomander balls for our flower girls.

The flower girl could hand out real flowers to the women sitting on the aisle seats.

That's funny. I'm an "Erin O." And my venue does NOT allow real petals.

Get some flowers, pick the petals off, and freeze them. That's what we are doing, A lot cheaper and you can choose exactly what you want

Rice is illegal to throw in most states. Birds and animals will eat it, but birds can't fat so they build up with gas and explode. Now you can do bird seed.
