No Children/Unplugged Wedding Invitation Wording

Kelsey, on October 10, 2015 at 7:24 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

So my fiancé and I are having an unplugged wedding--no cell phones, iPads, personal cameras, the likes. We also don't want children to attend our event, although I'm not sure what our cut-off is for children. Maybe no one under the age of 13. How do I put that wording on our invitations? I don't want to put a bunch of "rules" at the bottom of the invite, but I know I need to include it somehow…what are your thoughts?

I wouldn't put either on the invite. address your invites to SPECIFIC people, not a line that they get to fill in. "Two seats have been reserved for Alice and Joe Smith.

As for the unplugged, make a sign, have your ushers tell people, have your officiant make an announcment.

Address the invite JUST to the invited guests - you can also add something to the tune of "_ seats have been reserved in your honour" so it's very clear who in the household is invited aka the parents but not children.

For the unplugged, that's something best left on the website/as a sign at the ceremony/in an officiant announcement rather than on the invite itself.
