While reading through the thread about bad wedding peeves, a few people mentioned cutting the cake late. Now, I know after the cake cutting is usually the cue for "the night is winding down" or the "appropriate" time for guests to begin leaving. We however, are not doing a cake cutting (yay donut bars!) and was wondering if this will leave our guests annoyed. I wouldn't want anyone hanging around for the cake cutting that's not going to happen lol. If no cake is displayed is it obvious we won't be doing a cake cutting (I would hope so). How do you advertise that? any other thoughts/suggestions?

I've see the cake cutting at the beginning of the reception (so the caterer could cut it up correctly in the kitchen) and I've actually been planning that myself since we only have our photographer for 4 hours.
