No Bridesmaids or Groomsmen

Allie, on November 16, 2018 at 1:49 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hello! We are getting married in March. We are not having any bridesmaids, groomsmen, MOH, or Best man. However, I have 3 younger cousins who I am really close to and would like to have them in my wedding. They are 6 yo (boy), 3 yo (boy), and 2 yo (girl). Any ideas on how to incorporate them into the wedding such as flower girl and ring bearers? Or should I not have them in the wedding because I'm not having anyone else in it?

You can totally have a flower girl and ring bearers without bridesmaids and groomsmen! People have it the other way around all the time, and even if they didn't, it's your wedding. Include whoever you want in whatever way you want.

There are no rules to this. I'm not having a bridal party either, but I have a niece (4 YO) and she will be a "bubbles" girl. You can incorporate them as you want. Kids are supposed to represent your childhood so anything they do, whether the blow bubbles, throw flowers or toss confetti, is absolutely valid.

You can do whatever you want. They don't even have to have an official title, they can just walk down the aisle. The 2 year old may be a little young to walk by herself so perhaps the boys can escort her. It'll be adorable.

You can do whatever you want! I too chose not to have bridesmaids, groomsmen, MOH, or Best Man. I have a 9 year old niece and a 6 year old nephew that I wanted to include so I did make her a junior bridesmaid and him a ring bearer. Those two were the extent of our "wedding party"

Hey Allie! It's up to you, there is no formal rule around having anyone in your wedding! I think that would be an awesome way to incorporate them into your wedding!! Especially because of their ages, I think they would have fun with those roles!

There’s is no rules they can carry sighns saying you are coming be a RB of FG. Just remember at that age they may not do anything when they see a lot of people or just in a mood.

Ohhh I didn't think about that. It would be cute to have one of them holding the sign! The 6 yo is really good and will definitely participate. I'm worried about the other two but don't want them causing a scene because they don't want to go down the aisle.

    You can have the mom
and dad hold candy for when they get done at that age they can sit with a parent that may help. Also keep them comfy. And if the dint do it they don’t do it no one will care, it will be cute. But everyone understands kids.

You can always have them do ring bearer and flower girl. That will be cute watching them walk down before you. You can give the two boys each of yours and your partners rings for them to walk down. That’s what I’m doing with my flower girls. I have each holding ours around their necks with a pretty ribbon.

Same here! No bridal party for us, but I have a niece (17) and two nephews (15 and 11) that I am going to incorporate. My niece will be my lady in waiting and walk down the aisle first so I guess she is a junior bridesmaid and then my nephews will walk me down the aisle and give me away. For you, can you have one as a ring bearer and another carry a little sign announcing that the bride is coming and then use the 2 year old as a flower girl. I am sure whatever you do will be adorable with those ages. Smiley smile
