No bridesmaids, no groomsmen, just a dog and a bride and groom

mindy, on April 19, 2016 at 9:56 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 9

We are not having a bridal party, no bridesmaids, and no groomsmen. It will just be us at the "alter." Our dog will be walking down with our rings, and a Jr. bridesmaid will be walking the dog. (she's not really part of a bridal party, she is only 9, and needed someone to walk the dog)I know that the bridesmaid would be the one to hold the rings and my bouquet, but if I am not having any of these people what should I do with my bouquet and rings? We thought about a table, but seems unnecessary without us doing any unity ceremony type thing. What do you guys think? or any suggestions on what to do with the bouquet and rings? Who else isn't having a bridal party?

Can your mom or sister hold your bouquet? And maybe his dad or brother the rings?

I'm handing my bouquet to my mom.

May I suggest fake rings carried by your dog and give your real rings to you officiant? My FH tried tying my engagement ring around one of our dogs neck when he proposed and she scratched at the ribbon so much it came off. Luckily they were in the house so FH found it quickly but imagine if they were outside!

You can give the rings to the officiant before hand and set your bouquet on the first row of chairs as you pass it.

@mimitrue- and then grab it from them during the ceremony? I guess that could work.

You can have them walk up to give them to you, it's special because it's your parents. Smiley smile

What about your parents or people in the first row.

As for the rings if you don't actually want to attach them to the dog I would give them to the officiant

Not sure what to do with your bouquet, but I've heard of brides just wearing their ring on their right hand and doing a quick switch.
