No Bridal Party - Rehearsal Dinner?

Brooke, on March 27, 2019 at 11:49 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

HI all! So I do NOT have a bridal party - just me and FH. We have a few out of town guests coming (maybe about 15). We are also doing a early morning ceremony (10AM on a Friday) then a luncheon reception with food and beer/wine then having a late night celebration at my parents where we are providing food and alcohol also (so providing lunch and dinner on the day of). SO my question - do we need to provide a rehearsal dinner even though we are providing 2 meals the following day AND do not have a bridal party? WE would like to see people the night before still so i was thinking of something along the lines of "HI! We cant wait to see you Friday. We are not having a rehearsal dinner but if anyone would like to join us THursday night for dinner you are more then welcome. We will be at ____ around 5pm"

Is that ok? Thoughts? It is just a few close family members from out of town that will be told this way (honestly probably via text).

RDs are only mandatory if you're having a rehearsal. If you're not, no need to have a RD.

ETA: If you aren't hosting the people for dinner the night before, I honestly wouldn't write anything about it. The way that is worded I would think it's hosted.

There’s no need for a rehearsal dinner if you’re not having a rehearsal.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I don’t see the point of a rehearsal dinner, if you’re not having a rehearsal.

Should have added - it’s not so much a “rehearsal dinner” but more so of “hi your in town and we will be at xyz place for dinner. Join us if you have no plans”.
