No Bridal Party regrets?

Ana, on March 23, 2020 at 6:51 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello Brides!

I am scheduling a small wedding, which will hopefully take place November 2020 once the world starts to heal from COVID-19 and the fear. I have gone back and forth with the ideal of not having bridesmaids because I have two sisters and multiple close friends while my afianceed is an only child and only has one close friend. I would hate to pick and choose between my friends or to stress my fiancee with wrangling groomsmen among his acquaintances. Does anyone have any regrets of not having a bridal party? If you decided not to have bridal party what did you do to still include your friends?

We did not have a bridal party and loved it! I included my friends and sisters in the following ways:
    - one read a poem
    - one sang a song - two gave a toast to the bride - two passed rings around during the ceremony for a rind blessing - another I asked to manage corralling people for the formal photos, etc. -my brother was the emcee
Just give a task to those people who are important to you. And of course I invited friends and sisters to come dress shopping with me, etc.

I eloped so no wedding party. If I had decided to have a bigger wedding I still wouldn’t want a wedding party. And I’m positive I would have no regrets. I didn’t want anyone but us involved.

However if you really want your friends/family involved, I would still try to incorporate them. If you fear you’ll regret it, you just might. You can have uneven sides, they can do readings, they could walk the aisle and then sit during the ceremony or just having them get ready with you and do the fun pre-wedding stuff.

It’s ok these days to have an uneven wedding party. Just throwing it out there!
We didn’t have a wedding party though. No regrets!

Thank you all so much for the advice! I think I will go with my first plan and pass on a bridal party. Since it's out of state I think it will be easier and my friends might appreciate it. I want it to be about us. No stress so delegating tasks seems like it would work with my loved ones on our special day.
